Muralidhar Mohol, the newly appointed Union Minister of State for Cooperation and Aviation, yesterday visited the Vaikunth Mehta Institute of Cooperative Management (VAMNICOM) in Pune after assuming his new role. He paid tribute to Vaikunth Mehta’s rich legacy and contributions in the field of cooperation by garlanding his statue.
Dr. Hema Yadav, Director, VAMNICOM made a presentation before the Minister, detailing VAMNICOM’s activities and highlighting the work of its seven centers and various training programs initiated since the formation of the Ministry of Cooperation. She noted the long-standing success of the Post Graduation Diploma in Management – Agri Business Management (PGDM-ABM) course, which has achieved 100% placement for its students, and the Post Graduation Diploma in Cooperative Business Management (PG-DCBM). She also highlighted the institute’s efforts in women’s development and entrepreneurship within the cooperative sector. VAMNICOM also proposed to become a center of excellence for Cooperative sector for providing training, research, consultancy and cyber securities for cooperative sector.
Minister Mohol interacted with faculty and staff to understand VAMNICOM’s role in the cooperative sector since 1967, reviewing the institute’s centers and training programs. He expressed satisfaction with the institute’s work and urged the faculty and staff to align with national prosperity initiatives led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah.
The Minister’s visit is expected to strengthen VAMNICOM’s role in cooperative education and training. Under his guidance, VAMNICOM is expected to accelerate its future initiatives, improving the effectiveness and reach of cooperative training programs nationwide.
