Prakash Naiknavare, the Managing Director of the National Federation of Cooperative Sugar Factories Ltd. (NFCSF), was honored with a lifetime achievement award at the recently held Sugar Summit 2024 in Lonavala, Maharashtra. The award was presented by the Additional Chief Secretary of the Government of Maharashtra.
Naiknavare, a stalwart in the sugar sector with over 23 years of dedicated service, currently leads India’s National Sugar Federation, representing 259 cooperative sugar mills and 9 state sugar federations nationwide. His role involves overseeing member mills, providing technical consultancy both domestically and internationally, and shaping India’s policy on sugarcane, sugar, and related products.
Educationally, Naiknavare holds a degree in Agriculture Science and postgraduate diplomas in Business Management and Marketing Management. His career includes a significant tenure as the Country Head – India for Sugar Maxx Inc., a US-based multinational specializing in organic agri-inputs for enhancing sugar recovery in various crops. He is renowned for his contributions to India’s sugar, sugarcane, ethanol, and co-generation policies, having served on several governmental committees. Naiknavare’s expertise is widely recognized, evidenced by his frequent participation as a speaker at sugar conferences worldwide. His extensive international travel has enriched his understanding of global sugar production dynamics.
